The Squire House is a Greek revival
style. It has two bedrooms down and two
bedrooms upstairs. In addition, there is a
display room and a work room on the
second floor. The lumber was taken off
Rawson Bourne's land, south of Whiskey
Lane. Thirty-two inch black walnut
wainscoting, with walnut doors, flaunt their
elegance throughout the lower floor. |

Persons entered the house by the kitchen
porch which led them to a bench and a
hallway. Here they waited if the Squire
was seeing somebody else in his dining
room office. Jane Rich many times had to
sweep the mud away which had been
brought in by the boots of those involved. |

This was the bench on which those
who came to consult with the Squire
would wait if he were busy with other
clients. They were known for bringing the
dirt of the road with them. |

This was the desk that the Squire used
when he was consulting with his clients.
The chair was used by Senator Theodore
Breck when he was a member of the Ohio
Senate and House. It has been reupholstered
in black leather, which was the way the chair
probably was upholstered in the 1860-70's. |
