Divisions – Patrol |
 |
Patrol is the most vital part of any police department. The Brecksville Police Department runs a very aggressive patrol program. An aggressive patrol program results in higher crime deterrence, discovery of in-progress criminal activity, and a higher rate of criminal offender apprehension. Ultimately, this leads to a lower crime rate and a better quality of life within the city.

The patrol division consists of 22 officers, including three shift sergeants, providing police services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Patrol Division utilizes 11 fully marked police cars and two minimally-marked cruisers.
The vast majority of citizen contacts with the Brecksville Police Department are a result of the patrol function; be it responding to a call for service, a traffic stop, or investigating motor vehicle accidents. As such, Patrol is the most highly visible portion of the Police Department and the most easily recognized.
Each patrolman on duty is responsible for patrolling a portion of the city, and responding to any and all emergencies or calls for service, as well as assisting neighboring police departments when requested. |
