The Brecksville Police Department houses a twelve day, eight bed facility. The jail is staffed 24 hours a day by state certified corrections officers. Arrested individuals are booked into the jail and held for bond or arraignment. The jail also houses prisoners who were sentenced to jail from Brecksville Mayor’s Court or Garfield Heights Municipal Court. Jail staff also transports prisoners to the Cuyahoga County Jail for housing as well. When youth groups tour the police station, the jail is often the highlight of the tour.
The jail staff consists of 5 corrections officers. They are responsible for booking in and caring for all prisoners. The jail administrator is Sergeant Craig Mares. Sgt. Mares supervises all jailers and operations of the jail. He is also responsible for assuring that the facility is certified and operates within the standards set by the Ohio Bureau of Adult Detention and County Health Department.

Monday-Thursday- 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Sunday- 2:00PM – 5:00PM
No visitation Friday or Saturday
Each prisoner is permitted 2 twenty minute visits per week.
Visits may be cut short or cancelled at the last minute based on jail activity.
