Family History Project
The Family Memory Project has been created by the Bicentennial Historian Committee in hopes that it will assist your future relatives with your family history. This type of information is also invaluable to future residents, students and researchers who will research a specific home, business, building or organization. Can you imagine if your great-grandparents left you insight into their life and/or experiences?
The Family Memory Project consists of three documents:
A Family History, Fun Facts and an Opportunity to Share a Memory.
You can provide information for all or any of these forms. Your answers will be available to the public through the historical societies or the Bicentennial Committee.
This Family Memory Project will be maintained by the Brecksville Historical Association (BHA) or the Broadview Heights Historical Society (BHHS), depending on where you live. The BHA will scan and/or copy whatever news clippings, magazine articles, or electronic media, written by you or about you, or your family, that you are willing to include with your Family History. Please note if you would like the BHA/BHHS to return submissions. You and members of your family can continue to add information to your Family History file and the BHA/BHHS may also add documents in their possession that relate to you and your family.
These documents can be filled out electronically, typed, or hand written. Additional hard copies are at City Hall and will be made available throughout the Bicentennial celebrations. If you prefer, a BHA/BHHS volunteer will interview you to ensure your Family Memory Project gets completed.
Please return all completed documents to the Brecksville City Hall reception desk, Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5 pm or just click the submit button on the form and email it. Please call the BHA at 440-526-7165 with any questions or to request a pick up of your Family Memory Project.
Permission and authorization is hereby granted to the City of Brecksville and the Brecksville Historical Association to utilize certain family information provided for use in the City's Bicentennial Celebration and for use by the Brecksville Historical Association for viewing and use by the general public.
